Rock Springs Missions & Outreach Partners

Rock Springs Global Outreach was started in 2009 with the goal of spreading God’s word to the lost and making disciples of believers. Our work on the mission field includes medical clinics, food distribution, women’s conference, VBS, and construction work , street evangelism , working with the homeless, and church planting. God has guided and protected us as we have traveled to Haiti, Amazon River in Brazil, Guyana, Dominican Republic, Navajo Indian Reservation, West Virginia , and Kentucky. We are excited to continue reach out to new mission fields at home and abroad in the future and hope you can join us as we go out and serve, minister and love on the world. Visit the RSGO site!

Impact Christian Ministries is a faith-based organization that ministers to the needs of the homeless, needy and the poor, as well as those who may have lost their homes to disaster. We are also able to assist people who need help getting their lives on track after leaving jail or prison. Our center is located at 115 West Solomon Street in downtown Griffin, Ga. From this facility we serve cooked meals and provide spiritual guidance, worship and fellowship for those in need. We also have a large clothing ministry facility located at 112 Merchant Way in downtown Barnesville. This ministry can supply clothing, hygiene items and from time to time some household cleaning supplies for the needy.

The Potter's House provides a safe, loving, warm, peaceful, Godly environment. We laugh together, cry together, pray together, play together, and worship together. We minister to the whole person, helping our ladies become the well-rounded women of God that He originally intended for them to be. We also prepare them to become productive members of our society, as well as to become good mothers, wives, friends and citizens.

RS Christian 12 Steps

Our group is designed for all who have addiction problems. We use the same Twelve Step Program as was developed in Alcoholics Anonymous in the late 30s. Our program differs in the fact that we place high emphasis on the Spiritual aspect of the program. All who have addictions to anything harmful to them are invited to attend. We highly stress personal anonymity because no one needs to know who attends. We are an informal discussion group focusing on the positive aspects of recovery. We believe in encouragement, not discouragement. The attendees will never be talked down to or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. We meet every Thursday night at 7:30pm at Rock Springs Church Main Campus in the Hope House. Our meeting usually last until 9:00pm. We also have a family support group that meets at the same time in a different room. All family members are invited to attend this meeting.

The Women's Missionary Society

When: 2nd Saturday of each month

Where: The Hope House

Time: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

The Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) of Rock Springs Church is the oldest organization within the church. Since old records indicate that there were societies in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi around 1917, there was probably a WMS at Rock Springs at that time.

It was the WMS who was called upon to help with special needs (Home Missions) within the church whether it was to help an individual, families in the community, groups, or the church itself. Over the years, our pastors knew they could call on the WMS anytime there was a need.

Our Purpose

To aid and support the missionaries of the Congregational Methodist Church, their work and their families through the giving of our time, resources, talents, and, most importantly, with prayer. In so doing, we promote the mission work of spreading the gospel and trust in the Lord to multiply our efforts.

We thank God for blessing our group of dedicated women who have, for more than three generations, helped to carry out “The Great Commission.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Missionaries are only able to go into the fields where God has called them if we at home support them with prayers and shares.

Shares (Monetary Support)

A share is $25 per month per missionary. This amount was designated by the Division of Mission Ministries (DMM) at the Congregational Methodist Headquarters in Mississippi. However, individuals may takes shares in any amount they wish. Currently the WMS has one or more shares in each of our 23

missionaries. Plus, we continue to support Florence Tingle who was retired by the DMM but still works on the field. We also support Don Mapp with $150 monthly. Don and Florence are members of Rock Springs Church. The WMS totals approximately $2400 per quarter in support of missions.

Other Mission Support

We also contribute fund to help with the following:

1. Land for new churches

2. Building materials (roofing, blocks, sheetrock, etc.)

3. New vehicles for our missionaries

4. Bibles (English & Spanish)

5. Vacation Bible School crafts for Mexico and the Navajo Reservation

6. Kim Nelson – missionary with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Africa

Additionally, we contribute to the following ministries with Rock Springs Church:

2. Impact Christian Ministries

3. Women’s Ministry

4. Compassionate Hearts Ministry

6. Home Missions (food, clothing, etc., within the community)

7. Rock Springs Medical Clinic

8. The Potter’s House for Women

Also, we have a tree planted in Israel every year in honor of our high school graduates.

Belk Charity Sale: We participate in Belk’s Spring Charity Sale twice a year. Our ladies also have a big bake sale inside of Belk on Saturday, which is also very popular and profitable.

The Apples of Gold Gift Shop is our main fundraiser. We appreciate Pastor Benny making a location available to us to sell the products that we have sold for many years (Rada Cutlery, Happy Home Flavorings, and Rock Springs Cherished Recipes Cookbooks). Our WMS president suggested the name “Apples of Gold Gift Shop” named after Pastor Benny’s Apples of Gold radio program. The gift shop also sells Pastor Benny’s books and CDs, as well as CDs and DVDs by our other church pastors and members. Additionally, Rock Springs T-shirts, hoodies, books, Bibles, Bible covers, Christian & costume jewelry, Dayspring cards, calendars, etc., are sold.
