Grandparents...we don't say it enough.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we're here because of you.
    - You sacrificed.
    - You gave.
    - You loved.
    - You invested.
    - You planted a legacy in us of love.

Whether you're natural grandparents or maybe you have adopted some special grandchildren along the way, we couldn't do this thing called life without you. We just don't say it enough, probably because our words steadily fall short of the true feelings we want to convey. So, this is for you!

Here are a few things about you that we love and usually forget to say:

1.) A Grandparent’s arms never run out of hugs.
Some days we just need the extra encouragement. Some days it feels like you're the only one who sees who we are and not just what we've done. Thank you.

    2.) A Grandparent’s smile can light up a room.
This is why we call for advice with a sick child...because we secretly hope you'll just show up and know exactly what to do.  A grandparent is the perfect medicine! Thank you.

3.) Grandparents have their own set of rules.
So go ahead and have that second piece of cake or another scoop of banana pudding...Mom can deal with the cavities later! Mom might complain, but really she's thankful you love so deeply. Thank you.

4.) Grandparents discipline with a soft word.
You have a way about telling us what we need to hear without hurting our feelings. You always know exactly what to say, and it's usually wrapped with a funny story from a lesson you learned on your own. I appreciate your wisdom in my life. Thank you.

5.) Grandparents know the meaning of a moment.
We seem like we get frustrated around you because you live life at a different pace...much slower than our own. That frustration is really us noticing how wrong we are for packing our schedules so tightly that we only have "just a little while" to spend with you. You're always so patient with us. Thank you.

    6.) Grandparents are always forgiving.
Because you've been forgiven, you know that limiting the forgiveness you grant to us and others robs you of true
freedom. No matter what we do, you always let us know that we are forgiven and ultimately deeply loved by God. We need to hear that. Thank you.
