12 Step Support Ministry
Our group is designed for all who have addiction problems. Currently our primary focus is on the disease of addiction to alcohol and drugs. We use the same Twelve Step Program as was developed in Alcoholics Anonymous in the late 30’s. The same basic programs have been used by millions of people around the world and found to be effective. Our program differs in the fact that we place high emphasis on the Spiritual aspect of the program. Our literature is written by Christians in recovery and has biblical references throughout.
All who have addictions to anything harmful to them are invited to attend. We highly stress personal anonymity because no one needs to know who attends. We are an informal discussion group focusing on the positive aspects of recovery. We believe in encouragement, not discouragement. The attendees will never be talked down to or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. There are no requirements for membership except a desire to change. We have long time experience in recovery and of working with people in recovery.
We meet every Thursday night at 7:30pm in the Hope House. Our meeting usually last until 9:00pm. We also have a family support group that meets at the same time in a different room. Addiction affects the whole family, and many times the family members need support for themselves. All family members are invited to attend this meeting.
